The Wedding March Announces the Grand EntranceThe guests wait patiently, and then they usually hear the first sounds of the wedding march. The wedding march is a signal that the bride will appear often on the arm of her father to come down the aisle to meet her new husband. To the strains of the wedding march, the groom will see his bride for the first time on their wedding day along with all of the other guests. The bride will walk past all of her friends and family so they get a good look at her dress, hair, and expressions on this glorious day. The Wedding March Has Started Weddings for Many Years The wedding march is familiar to many people because they have heard this at many weddings in the past. This is a wonderful composition by Richard Wagner from his work entitled the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin. This is from an opera written by the great German composer in 1848. The story of the opera lends itself to the traditional wedding in modern times although it was written so many years ago. The wedding march ends as the bride and groom unite for the rest of the formal ceremony to complete their wedding vows and complete the legal procedures for their special day. The wedding march has been played for millions of wedding throughout the years since it was composed by Wagner. The music is so magnificent that it will probably be used for many years to come. The wedding march is not a part of all weddings, but this great music is the introduction in a great proportion of the ceremonies around the world. Some brides and their grooms choose more modern music for their wedding ceremony. |
